Electronic Identity Card (CIE) is an opportunity for Public Administrations at local or national level and for companies with different possibilities of use:
- it is an access key to online services. The Ministry of Interior issues for each CIE a digital certificate, registered in the chip, that allows the secure authentication by the citizen to services provided on the net by public administrations or privates;
- it is an identity verification tool, the personal and biometric data stored in the chip, in the same format of passports, allow in visual checks to verify with certainty the authenticity of the document and the identity of the holder;
- it is an Advanced Electronic Signature Solution, using the digital certificate recorded in the chip, the CIE allows to sign an Advanced Electronic Signature (FEA) on an electronic document.
