In case of loss or theft of the Electronic Identity Card it is necessary to:
- lodge a complaints with the competent authorities;
- deliver the report to the Municipality office, carrying with you another identification document to prove your identity;
- proceed with the request for the issuance of a new Electronic Identity Card.
In case you do not have another identification document, it is necessary to contact your Municipality.
In case of loss or theft of the Electronic Identity Card abroad, you must follow the instructions reported here. In this case, in order to request a new issue of an Electronic Identity Card, you can file a report at the Italian Consulate or Embassy. The report filed with other foreign bodies (e.g. local or foreign police) will have to be repeated in Italy and then delivered to your Municipality.
